Executive coaching

A sharper, more honest thinking partner.

Executive coaching for leaders. The further up you go, the fewer people you can think aloud with. This is that place — for working out what's really on your plate, and how to succeed without losing yourself.

Who it's for

Recently: a charity chief executive; five senior leaders in national institutions; a head of procurement, team leaders and an executive at a large UK trade retailer.

Executives with many decisions to navigate

Chairs, chief executives and directors carrying more calls than there are hours to think about them. A place to slow one down, look at it properly, and see what it's really about.

Leaders with teams to lead and people to manage

The conversation you keep putting off. The colleague you can't read. The team that agrees in the meeting and does something else afterwards. Somewhere to work out what's actually going on.

Executives and leaders new to a role

First hundred days, a bigger remit, a board to answer to. Everyone is watching how you read the room; here is somewhere to test that reading before it counts, and be told honestly.

How a session works

The coaching and the facilitation come from the same place: listening for what's underneath, not just what's being said. In a room, that's the thing nobody is quite saying. One-to-one, it's the thing you keep saying without noticing.

You bring the question — the decision, the person, the pattern. I hold the structure, ask what you've been avoiding, and say what I notice. I won't tell you what to do.

You leave with a clearer view of the thing, a next step you've chosen, and — over a series of sessions — a sharper sense of how you lead when nobody's coaching you.

Format
One-to-one, or peer coaching for a small group of leaders.
Where
Mostly by video, fitted around your diary rather than mine — a launch into the day, a lunch hour, a gap between meetings. In person in London, often as a walk. Wherever you are, whatever the time zone.
Length
Sessions are up to 90 minutes. Most people start with a block of five and see where it goes.
First step
A short conversation about what's on your mind, and whether this is the right way to work on it.
Chas Lamont speaking with a group
“Professional, engaged and thoughtful throughout. I learned a good deal from him. We would happily work with Chas again.”

Coaching has a set fee, so you know where you stand before we start. Sessions are up to 90 minutes, by video or in person, and there's nothing to pay until you've decided to go ahead.

If the fee isn't workable for you, email anyway. Circumstances differ, and I keep some room for that.

Five sessions
£1,000 · most people start here
Facilitation
Priced after a first call — every room is different. How facilitation is priced →
